Testimonials
Superb ANOVA lessons from MEB
My statistics and ANOVA tutor at MEB not only taught whatever I wanted to learn in the subject but also kindled my interest in statistics. I took statistics more seriously, and it helped me in many aspects of the undergraduate program.

MEB was a real find for me
I took my first online tutorial from a statistics tutor at MEB at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. She was a very good teacher who helped me get perfect grades. I recommend that you talk to MEB if you require 1:1 lessons.

MEB accounts tutor was very helpful
I really enjoyed learning ANOVA from an MEB statistics tutor, who also helped me finish assignments and projects on time. He also guided me with my homework and projects. I couldn’t have ever imagined that such quality teachers are available at affordable fees.

What is ANOVA?
Analysis of Variance, commonly known as ANOVA, is an important statistical technique that helps us establish if there is a significant difference in the means of three or more independent groups. The two most commonly used are one-way and two-way ANOVA.
A One-Way ANOVA studies how a single factor in the analysis affects a response variable. A Two-Way ANOVA attempts to establish how two factors impact a variable under investigation. It also determines if the response variable responds to the relationship between the two factors.
There are also three-way and four-way ANOVA analyses. Some other related statistical analysis methods are ANCOVA (Analysis of Covariance), MANOVA (Multivariate Analysis of Variance), MANCOVA (Multivariate Analysis of Covariance), and PERMANOVA (Permutational Multivariate Analysis of Variance).
ANOVA in statistics
ANOVA is a potent statistical tool for hypothesis testing that makes the connections between dependent and independent variables and can help us understand how groups respond to each other. The t-test and z-test statistical techniques form the basis of ANOVA.

When to use ANOVA?
Using ANOVA, we can understand and justify if the results for a sample are also applicable to the corresponding populations. For example, in machine learning, ANOVA helps select features, and we can compare the features by performing an ANOVA test. We can remove similar features from the feature set after comparison with the help of ANOVA analysis.
A similar statistical method, the T-test, has the limitation of comparing only two variables, whereas ANOVA can also handle more than two variables.
ANOVA examples in real life
ANOVA is popular in academics and research in biomedical sciences, psychology, social sciences, and many other subjects. It is also a statistical analysis tool in industry and commerce fields like retail and advertising, and it is helpful in product development, project management, sales, and finance functions. Here are some real-life examples that illustrate the utility of ANOVA.
- Studying the effectiveness of different types of advertisements
- Understanding the impact of pressure, and temperature on chemical reactions in manufacturing plants
- Managing budgets effectively to optimize revenue and inventory by analyzing budget to costs
