Job Description

My Engineering Buddy is looking for experienced and highly skilled Physics tutors to provide online tutoring and homework help to students worldwide. We are seeking candidates who can handle challenging academic problems and have an exceptional grasp of Physics, particularly in solving problems on-demand. Physics tutoring requires specialized knowledge and a deep understanding of key concepts. Students often face difficulties in areas like Quantum Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism, Classical Mechanics, and Relativity, making personalized support essential for their academic success.

We prioritize tutors with advanced degrees (PhD or Master’s) and extensive tutoring experience with international students. Those with prior experience working for companies like Chegg, CourseHero, Tutorbin, or Bartleby will be preferred. Excellent communication skills, particularly in English, and a flexible schedule to accommodate late-night sessions (IST) are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct online tutoring sessions and offer high-quality homework help.
  • Solve complex Physics problems across various subfields/topics.
  • Work with international students (Americans, Europeans, Australians, Gulf countries).
  • Maintain professionalism and high standards for academic integrity.
  • Adhere to My Engineering Buddy’s strict policy on maintaining confidentiality and avoiding direct contact with students.

In Physics, tutors must be well-versed in specific areas like Quantum Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Optics, and Electromagnetism. Whether it’s helping students with circuit analysis, complex mathematical derivations, or experimental physics problems, the tutor’s role is crucial in simplifying complex concepts.

Requirements

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Physics or its major field (or pursuing one).
  • 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably tutoring students abroad.
  • Knowledge of platforms like Google Meet, Google Sheets, and assignment submission formats.
  • Technical setup: Stable broadband, laptop/tablet with a camera, microphone, and digital pen.
  • Communication: Fluent English with a neutral or slightly foreign accent.
  • Tutors proficient in using tools such as WolframAlpha, MATLAB, and online simulation tools to assist students with assignments, simulations, and technical problems will have an advantage.

Pay & Compensation

Hourly Rate: ₹500 – ₹1,500 based on the complexity of the work, the student’s profile, and the session timings. For tutoring sessions, the fee is fixed before the session. For homework help, you will be notified of the fee upfront, and you can choose to accept or decline the work. We ensure timely payment with no unnecessary delays.

Additional Information

This is a freelance position with no guaranteed hours, and tutors are contacted on a job-by-job basis. We do not commit to providing regular work, and there is no time commitment required from your end. We try to distribute assignments fairly among all tutors, avoiding favoritism.

Many students in Physics struggle with conceptual understanding, mathematical derivations, and problem-solving approaches, so tutors need to adapt quickly to deliver quality assistance. Tutors who can approach problem-solving efficiently will excel.

Global Applicants Welcome, though the compensation might be more suitable for those residing in countries where the cost of living is lower.

Non-Disclosure

Sharing personal contact information or discussing fees directly with students is strictly prohibited, and violations of this policy will result in removal from our platform.
