- Payment information: Transaction references and payment confirmation details. Note: we do not store full card numbers or bank account details — these are handled by our payment processors (PayPal and bank transfer services)
- Feedback and reviews: Ratings, testimonials, and written reviews you submit about your tutoring experience
- Job applications: If you apply to become a tutor, we collect your qualifications, CV, educational certificates, and professional experience
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type
- Usage data: Pages visited, time spent on pages, links clicked, referring website address, date and time of visits

We do not record Google Meet sessions by default. If a session is recorded for quality review or at your request, you will be informed before recording begins and can decline.
3. How We Collect Data
- Directly from you: When you contact us via WhatsApp, email, or our contact form; when you book or attend a tutoring session; when you make a payment; when you submit a review
- Automatically: Through cookies and standard web server logs when you browse our website
- From third parties: Review platforms (Google, Trustpilot, Reviews.io) where you leave public reviews; payment processors who confirm successful transactions

We use your personal data only for the following purposes:
- To provide tutoring services: Matching you with the right tutor, scheduling sessions, delivering session notes, and managing your ongoing tutoring relationship

5.1 Within MEB
Your personal contact information is accessible only to our student helpline team. Tutors assigned to your sessions see only what is necessary for the session — the subject, questions, notes you share, and your session history with that specific tutor. Tutors do not see your phone number, email address, or payment details.
5.2 Service Providers
We share limited data with third-party service providers who help us operate our business. All such providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the specific purpose for which it was shared:
- Payment processors: PayPal and bank transfer services, for processing payments and refunds
- Communication platforms: WhatsApp (Meta) for our primary communication channel; Google Meet for tutoring sessions. These platforms have their own privacy policies which apply to their services
- Website hosting and analytics: Our web host and analytics provider for site operation and performance monitoring
- Spam detection: Automated spam detection for comment filtering
5.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your personal data where required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of MEB, our users, or others.
5.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of our business, your personal data may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. How We Protect Your Data

- Session notes: Retained for 2 years after your last session
- Communications (WhatsApp, email): Retained for 2 years from the date of communication
- Reviews and testimonials: Retained indefinitely unless you request removal
- Website usage logs: Retained for 12 months
- Job application data (unsuccessful): Retained for 6 months then deleted unless you consent to longer retention

8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal data:

13. WhatsApp and Google Meet
WhatsApp is our primary communication channel. When you contact us on WhatsApp, your messages, your phone number, and any files or images you share are stored within WhatsApp’s platform (operated by Meta). Meta’s privacy policy applies to your use of WhatsApp. We access and use this communication to respond to your enquiries and coordinate your tutoring sessions.
Tutoring sessions are conducted via Google Meet (operated by Google). Google’s privacy policy applies to your use of Google Meet. We do not record sessions by default. If a session is recorded for any reason, you will be informed and your consent obtained before recording begins.
